Coverage Sized to How Texans Actually Ride

A weekend cruiser in the Hill Country, a daily commuter on the tollways, a touring rig loaded for a Big Bend run, a track-day sport bike — each carries a different risk, and a good motorcycle policy is written to match. Texas requires liability to ride legally, but the coverage that actually saves riders tends to be the parts drivers never think about: uninsured-motorist protection and coverage for the custom work and gear that make the bike yours. We walk through your riding, not a checklist.

What’s Covered

Motorcycle Coverage Built for the Road

We place riders with carriers that specialize in motorcycles, so the policy reflects how the bike is really ridden — not a car policy with two wheels bolted on.

Liability & Property Damage
Meets the Texas 30/60/25 minimum to ride legally, and covers the injury and damage costs you’re responsible for if you’re at fault in a crash.
Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist
The coverage that matters most on two wheels. When a driver with no insurance hits you, this pays your injury costs instead of leaving you holding them.
Comprehensive & Collision
Replaces or repairs the bike after a wreck, a drop, theft, vandalism, or a Texas hailstorm — whether or not another vehicle was involved.
Custom Parts & Accessories
Exhaust, bags, chrome, a rebuilt engine, a custom paint job — upgrades a base policy ignores. This insures the money you’ve put into the machine.
Safety Apparel & Gear
Helmets, jackets, boots, and riding gear destroyed in a covered crash are replaced — a category most standard auto policies won’t touch.
Roadside & Trip Interruption
Towing to the nearest shop when you break down, plus lodging and meals if a covered breakdown strands you far from home on a long ride.
Across Texas

Every kind of two-wheeler

From first bikes to garage full of them — the machines we insure across Texas:

Cruisers & Touring

Baggers & Long-Haul

Cruisers and dressers built for miles get coverage that follows the accessories, the passenger, and the gear you pack for a multi-day trip.

Sport & Naked

Performance Bikes

Sport bikes carry higher theft and repair exposure, so the policy leans on comprehensive, agreed handling of high-value parts, and strong medical protection.

Scooters & Dual-Sport

Commuters & Trail

Scooters, mopeds, and dual-sport bikes that split time between street and dirt each get written to the way you actually use them.

Why Harvey Insurance

Riders talk to riders’ people

A motorcycle claim is not a fender-bender. You want an agent who understands that before you ever file one.

01

Carriers That Know Bikes

We place your policy with insurers who build motorcycle products on purpose — so agreed values, accessory limits, and lay-up options are already there, not bolted on as afterthoughts.

02

Texas Road Sense

Hill Country deer, I-35 traffic, spring hail, and a riding calendar that barely pauses — we price and structure coverage around the conditions you actually ride in.

03

A Person on the Claim

When you go down, you call the agency that wrote the policy and reach someone who knows your bike — not a queue that treats it like a four-door sedan.

FAQ

Common questions about motorcycle insurance

Is motorcycle insurance required in Texas?
Yes. Texas law requires the same liability minimums as a car — 30/60/25 ($30,000 bodily injury per person, $60,000 per crash, $25,000 property damage). You must be able to show proof of coverage, and riding without it risks fines, license suspension, and personal liability for anything you cause.
Does my policy cover my helmet and riding gear?
A standard bare-bones policy usually doesn’t. Harvey adds safety-apparel coverage so a helmet, jacket, gloves, and boots ruined in a covered crash are replaced — gear that can run into the thousands and is easy to forget until you need it.
Why is uninsured-motorist coverage so important for riders?
Because riders absorb the worst of a collision physically, and a large share of Texas drivers carry no insurance or too little. Uninsured/underinsured-motorist coverage pays your medical and injury costs when the at-fault driver can’t — for many riders it’s the single most valuable piece of the policy.
Are my custom parts and upgrades covered?
Only up to a small default limit unless you schedule them. Tell us what you’ve added — exhaust, wheels, engine work, paint, luggage — and we set an accessory limit that reflects the real investment, so a claim doesn’t pay out at stock value.
Can I pause coverage over the winter?
Often, yes. Many motorcycle carriers offer a lay-up option that suspends collision while keeping comprehensive active during months the bike is stored, so theft and hail are still covered while you’re not paying for on-road protection you aren’t using.
Does one policy cover more than one motorcycle?
It can. If you own several bikes we can write them together, often with a multi-bike discount, and tailor the coverage on each one — a garage-kept classic doesn’t need the same policy as a daily commuter.
