Harvey Insurance is a trusted local agency serving families and businesses across Texas, Oklahoma & Arkansas — backed by America’s most reputable carriers.

We Know Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi coverage looks different from inland Texas — hurricane season is the dominant consideration, salt air wears on roofs and exteriors faster than people inland often realize, and coastal areas like Padre Island and Flour Bluff often need separate windstorm coverage through TWIA. The housing stock spans historic Bayfront homes to newer master-planned developments inland. We’ve been writing through plenty of seasons here. Give us a call and we’ll walk through what fits your home and where it sits.

What actually damages homes here

The Coastal Bend has its own coverage reality. We’ve been writing through plenty of seasons.

Hurricane Season

Wind, Water & Surge

Hurricane season is THE consideration along the Coastal Bend. Corpus Christi has felt direct impacts and indirect ones — Beryl in 2024, Harvey before. We know how the coast handles it.

Year-Round

Salt Air & Wear

Salt air, persistent humidity, and wind events year-round wear on roofs and exteriors faster than inland Texas. Worth talking through what to look for in a Corpus Christi policy.

Coastal Exposure

Wind & Flood

Padre Island, Flour Bluff, and other coastal areas of Corpus Christi often have insurance considerations distinct from properties further inland — including separate windstorm coverage in some cases. We’ll walk through them when you call.

Neighborhoods We Serve

Corpus Christi coverage, neighborhood by neighborhood

We write homeowners policies across every Corpus Christi ZIP code. A few areas we work in most often:

Padre Island

Coastal community with significant wind and surge exposure. Often requires separate windstorm coverage.

Flour Bluff

Established coastal-adjacent neighborhood. Wind and salt-air considerations factor in.

Bayfront

Historic neighborhoods along the bay. Older housing stock with significant character.

Calallen

Inland northwestern neighborhood. More distance from coastal exposure.

Annaville

Northwest Corpus Christi neighborhood. Family-oriented and inland-focused.

FAQ

Common Corpus Christi homeowners insurance questions

I live west of the bay, well inland. Am I still in the windstorm territory?
Possibly, because the boundary is drawn by county and by designated areas rather than by how close you feel to the water. Parts of the Coastal Bend that seem comfortably inland still sit inside it. It is worth establishing which side of that line your address falls on before you shop, because it changes whether wind is inside your homeowners policy or has to be arranged separately.
Why is my deductible a percentage instead of a dollar amount?
Because coastal carriers price the catastrophe perils differently from everything else. A kitchen fire might carry a flat deductible while wind and hail carry a percentage of the dwelling limit, so the same policy can have two very different out-of-pocket numbers depending on what happened. When we quote here we show both figures side by side, since the percentage one is the number that matters in the event you are actually insuring against.
Does the policy replace my roof or pay a depreciated value for it?
That depends on the loss settlement terms, and along the coast more carriers are writing roofs on a depreciated basis as they age. A twenty-year-old roof on a depreciated schedule can settle for a fraction of what a new one costs. It is a specific question with a specific answer in the policy, and it is worth asking before a storm rather than after.
If we evacuate, does the policy pay for where we stay?
Often yes, though through a narrower door than people expect. Additional living expense generally responds when a covered loss makes the home uninhabitable, and many policies also include a civil authority provision that pays when officials order an area cleared. The terms differ on how long it lasts and what triggers it, which is a useful thing to know in August rather than in the middle of a mandatory evacuation.
